Spreading Flames DPS
A devastating fire build that spreads burning to all enemies. Strong AoE with ramping damage over time.
Overview
The Spreading Flames build leverages the Pyromancer expertise to deal massive AoE damage over time. Burning stacks spread to all enemies, creating exponential damage scaling in multi-enemy fights. With the new Meltdown capstone, this build gains an AoE fireball that detonates for huge burst alongside the DoT. One of the most beginner-friendly builds while still being competitive at high levels.
Core Skills (Priority Order)
- Blaze (Common) - Unlocks fire attacks that apply burning stacks.
- Spreading Flames (Legendary, S) - THE build-defining skill. Burns spread to other enemies.
- Burning Expert (Legendary, A) - Increases burning damage by 60%.
- Flame Magic (Legendary, A) - Increased burn chance on fire casts.
- Wildfire (Mythic, S) - Burns stack endlessly! Permanent stacking damage.
- Meltdown (Mythic, S+) - Pyromancer capstone. Charges AoE fireball + 15% burn boost.
- Chainflame (Legendary, A) - Burns chain to adjacent enemies for more spread.
Supporting Skills
- Kindled Spirit (Common) - Bonus damage to Burning enemies.
- Fire Volley (Common) - Cast fire every round for consistent burn application.
- Flashfire (Mythic, S) - Burns deal 3x damage but expire at end of turn. Pick Flashfire OR Wildfire, not both.
- Ember Guard (Legendary, A) - Counter-burn on being hit, minor burn boost.
- Boost ATK (Common) - Scales base damage which amplifies burning.
Expertise Path
Stack Pyromancer tags to hit breakpoints. At 5 Pyromancer tags, Meltdown becomes available as the capstone. Fire Volley, Kindled Spirit, Spreading Flames, Burning Expert, and Flame Magic all give Pyromancer tags.
Strategy Tips
- This build ramps up over time. The longer the fight, the stronger you get.
- Spreading Flames is the #1 priority after basic fire. Without it, fire is a single-target build.
- Wildfire vs Flashfire: Wildfire for long fights (Raids), Flashfire for short burst fights.
- Meltdown adds burst to a DoT build, making it viable in short fights too.
- In boss fights, burning stacks accumulate rapidly for massive damage.
Tier Rating: B
Fire looks good on paper but underperforms in practice. Burning DoT ramps too slowly compared to bolt and knife burst damage, and by the time burns stack up, fights are often already decided. Meltdown capstone helps but doesn’t close the gap with top-tier DPS builds. Decent for casual play but outclassed at high levels.
